| This is where I work. I am extremely lucky to have a beautiful studio at the Abbotsford Convent in Melbourne. My studio is on the top floor of one of several lovely old gothic buildings that are situated on the banks of the Yarra River. My studio was once a nun's bedroom! It's very cozy but it does get a tad messy. I tidy up at the end of every project though. That's when everything shines and smells like lavendar beeswax and I get excited and find all sorts of lost stuff (mobile phone bills, my diary, someone's iPod etc). Between times (read most of the time) I'm ashamed to say my studio is a shambles. But that's one of the joys of being a writer; there is no Mr Pecksniff drifting by your desk tapping his time and motion chart. | |
